Plug-in kit tested and labelled, for landlords, holiday lets and businesses

PAT Testing

PAT testing (portable appliance testing) checks the things you plug in. Kettles, toasters, lamps, heaters, TVs and power tools all get a look and an electrical test. Each one gets a pass or fail label and goes on a list for your records.

Holiday lets, guest houses, shops, offices and workshops across the Island use it to stay safe and keep their insurer happy. We work round your changeover days or opening hours.

PAT testing questions, answered

How much does PAT testing cost?

PAT testing on the Island usually costs £1 to £3 per item, with a small minimum charge for a visit. A holiday let is often £50 to £100. Give us a rough count and we will give you a fixed price.

Is PAT testing the law?

The law says plug-in kit at work or in a let must be kept safe. PAT testing is the usual way to show you have done that, and many insurers ask for it.

How often should I PAT test?

It depends on the kit and how hard it is used. Holiday lets and busy workplaces often test every year. We will tell you what suits you.

Can you test while guests are in?

We would rather come on a changeover day, but we can work round guests if we need to.
