Extra Sockets & Light Points
Older homes were wired when a house had a few lamps and a radio. Now every room needs chargers, TVs and kitchen gadgets. Extension leads and adaptors are a fire risk. The safe answer is more sockets on a proper circuit.
We add double sockets, USB sockets and new light points with the cables chased in or run neatly. We check the circuit can take the extra load first, and test everything before we leave.
What's included
Circuit checked first
We make sure the circuit can take more sockets before we add them.
USB sockets
Sockets with built-in USB charging, so the plugs stay free.
New light points
Ceiling lights, wall lights and new switches where you want them.
Neat finish
Cables chased into the wall and made good, or run in tidy trunking where that suits.
Sockets & lights questions, answered
How much does it cost to add a socket?
Most extra double sockets on the Island cost £100 to £200 each. A long cable run or a new circuit adds to that. We give you a fixed price before we start.
Can you add sockets without making a mess?
Yes. Dust sheets go down and we clear up as we go. Chased walls are filled ready for paint.
Can I swap my sockets for USB ones?
Yes. In most cases it is a straight swap on the same box, so it is quick.
Do I need a new circuit for more sockets?
Not always. We test the one you have first and only suggest a new circuit if it is needed.
