Old fuses you have to rewire by hand? Cables in rubber or fabric? Then your home may be due a rewire. It is the biggest electrical job a house ever needs, so we plan it with you first. We walk round room by room and agree where every socket, switch and light goes.
The Island has lots of old homes, from Victorian villas in Ventnor and Ryde to stone and thatch cottages in Godshill and Brighstone. Many still have wiring from decades ago. Floors get covered, walls are cut neatly and made good after. The whole house is tested and certified when we finish.

How much does a full rewire cost on the Isle of Wight?
Most full rewires of a three bed house on the Island cost £4,000 to £7,500. A small flat or bungalow often costs less. The size of the home, the number of circuits and the making good all move the price. We see the property first, then give you one fixed price in writing before any work starts.
How long does a rewire take?
About one to two weeks for a normal three bed house. It depends on the size and whether you are living in it. You get a plan for each day before we start.
Can we stay in the house during a rewire?
Most of the time, yes. We work room by room and try to keep the power on at night. On bigger jobs an empty house can be quicker and we will tell you honestly if that applies.
Can you rewire an old cottage without spoiling it?
Yes. We plan cable routes to keep old walls, beams and plaster as they are wherever we can, and make good neatly where we can't.
